Orthodontic treatment frequently asked questions
Can I have invisible adult braces?
Yes, we offer a few different types of almost invisible braces depending on the exact treatment you need, if your teeth require a considerable amount of movement, free example if you have a large over jet or overbite then our white braces may be the best option for you.
Our clear braces made with removable clear liners are also an option for cosmetic teeth straightening, this usually is only for the front teeth and can achieve results relatively quickly.
Can I eat with invisible braces?
The answer is always yes, you may however have to remove your braces if they are of the clear tray type. If you have removable clear tray braces then you simply take them out to eat, clean your teeth after and then put the braces back in again. If you have white braces then again, you can certainly eat but you need to be careful that you don’t eat particularly hard crunchy foods or exceptionally sticky food as this could damage the braces where they are attached to your teeth via brackets.
How often will I need to see the dentist whilst wearing braces?
You will usually come to visit us every six weeks, we can then check on progress and make any adjustments.
How long does treatment take with invisible Orthodontics?
Treatment times will vary considerably but cosmetic teeth straightening of the front teeth is usually completed within 4 – 6 months.
How old do I have to be to have braces?
To have adult orthodontics you will need to be 18 years old, there is however no upper age limit so long as your teeth are healthy and your gums in good condition.
